2nd Semester 2016-17

During the 2nd semester in 3rd - 5th grade, art classes we will be researching and writing about famous artists.  These artist biography reports will also contain artworks made by the students that were inspired by these famous artists.  In K – 2nd grade classes, students will become book illustrators and authors when they create there own picture books in art class. These students will also learn about perspective, and portraits.  This spring, students in 5th grade will be making Claymation movies with their I-pads, 4th grade will be creating paper mache masks, and 3rd grade classes will be making paper mache insects.  In art we will also be creating a variety of two-dimensional and three-dimensional projects including paintings, portraits, origami, bird, bugs and flower designs. Continued student involvement and effort will be the focus for these projects, as well as investigating the art techniques and elements found in the Indiana Visual Arts Standards.  As always, the students will learn these concepts by project-based problem solving and creative discovery.  -Mr. Kil
